The
great folks at McCormick & Company contacted Event Solutions by
ManageCamp to help them plan a series of off-site learning experiences for
their entire marketing team. The objectives were to build the team's
knowledge base, provide a forum for generating fresh ideas, and create an
opportunity for the broader team to get together and build stronger
relationships.
We started by spending some time with the
leadership team to get a better understanding of the team's culture and
the types of topics and learning structures that would provide the most
value. We then put together several alternatives relative to agenda
development and identified a varied list of potential speakers and
instructors whom would be good fits.
With the wish-list
complete, we then did all the work negotiating and contracting the
speakers, setting up calls between the speakers and McCormick to make sure
everyone was on the same page, and planning the full agenda.
An
important part of this project was also finding just the right venue -
someplace new and different (not the same old hotel ballroom!).
After completing an extensive site search, we provided the team with three
options and then proceeded to negotiate and contract with the final
choice.
With the speakers and venue set, we then found a
fantastic caterer and a top-notch audio/video supplier to make sure all
the details would be world-class.
The end result was a flawless
execution of McCormick's vision and a very satisfied group of marketers who
left clamoring for more! Since then, we've executed a second off-site
and have worked with McCormick to brand this new learning series so that it
can become a fixture in their marketing community!
And by
leveraging our existing clout with speakers and vendors in addition to
taking all the work off the internal team's hands, we are able to deliver
these events for less than it would have cost them if they had done it
themselves! That's what we call a win-win!

them. Based on their specific needs, we found two fantastic speakers
who developed custom workshops, we identified a very unique and cool venue,
and we took care of everything from soup to nuts (pun partly intended -
sorry!). The planning team stayed very involved and we participated
in regular meetings to make sure everything was moving along according to
plan and on-strategy.
As the date grew nearer, and more
people learned of the event, the attendee list grew - allowing for more
relationship building across the different brands and companies within
Campbell's.

and extracting oil from the earth). At that point it became clear
that their team of over 100 would greatly benefit from a two-day intensive
offsite covering some very specific topics of interest. The goals

energize the team.

were to build knowledge, provide a hands-on learning environment, and
energize the team.
Not only did Event Solutions manage the
entire two-day event (including agenda development, speaker
identification, venue search and selection, negotiating, contracting,
F&B, A/V, etc..) we also worked with the client to facilitate a vendor
fair involving vendor booths, sponsorships and speaking slots.
The entire event was held in a nightclub in downtown Houston - a very cool
and unique venue that had never been used for such a meeting before!
In this case, the client wanted to be very involved in the entire
process and regular meetings were held throughout. They also took
responsibility for the planning and execution of four workshops over the
course of the two days and we were able to integrate all the elements and
agenda items without a hitch!
The resulting event was a great
success that received incredibly strong survey results across the board!
